On Saturday May 9th, of 2026 White Mountain Motorsports Park will open the gates for the annual Open Practice day. Every year no matter the event when you are wandering around the pit area you would tend to see the founding father of WMMP, Donnie Avery driving his White Chevy pickup truck through the pits and just around the property. The Avery family opened the beautiful North Woodstock, New Hampshire speedplant in May of 1993, holding local Late Model races and a stop from the NASCAR Busch North Series (ARCA East) as well. The stands were packed every Saturday night with massive car counts to get things moving for White Mountain.

As well as owning and operating the speedway Donnie Avery also owned an American Canadian Tour Late Model that saw a few different drivers behind the wheel over the years, including his son David Avery, multi-time White Mountain champion Stacy Cahoon and the winningest driver is the Pro All Star Series Super Late Models Ben Rowe. After a late season crash in 2014 Donnie decided to end the racing program and focus on White Mountain. February 14th, 2026 will forever be a day to remember the local legend Donnie Avery, and we can’t wait to get to the track and back to racing at his White Mountain Motorsports Park.
